Shaped rolls are really easy to pull off!

Step up your roll game for the big feast. These ideas are simple to form and add a little flair to the bread basket!

Heidi VanValkenburg, with Rhodes Bake-N-Serv, shared five fun shapes to try.

All of these techniques start with Rhodes frozen dough. Shape them after they’ve thawed from the freezer but are still cold. Heidi shared how to shape a double roll, a cloverleaf shape, a butter flake shape, a kaiser roll, and a knotted roll.

Double Roll

Two Rhodes Dinner Rolls thawed, but still cold. Brush one side of roll with butter. Place two rolls in sprayed muffin tin. Brush tops of rolls with butter.

Cover with sprayed plastic wrap and allow to rise until double in size. Remove plastic wrap and bake at 350ºF for 15-20 minutes.

Kaiser Roll

One Rhodes Dinner Roll thawed, but still cold. Roll into 12-inch rope. Tie into a knot. Bring one end over the top and other up through the center.

Cover with sprayed plastic wrap and allow to rise until double in size. Remove plastic wrap and bake at 350ºF for 15-20 minutes.

Butter Flake Roll

Two Rhodes Dinner Rolls thawed, but still cold. Combine two rolls. Make 5-6 deep cuts in roll. Brush butter between each cut. Place in a sprayed muffin tin.

Cover with sprayed plastic wrap and allow to rise until double in size. Remove plastic wrap and bake at 350ºF for 15-20 minutes.

Clover Leaf Shape

Rhodes Dinner Rolls thawed, but still cold. Cut rolls in half. Place three halves in sprayed muffin tin. Brush with butter.

Cover with sprayed plastic wrap and allow to rise until double in size. Remove plastic wrap and bake at 350ºF for 15-20 minutes.

Knot Roll

One Rhodes Dinner Roll thawed, but still cold. Roll into 9-inch rope. Tie into a single knot. Place on sprayed baking sheet.

Cover with sprayed plastic wrap and allow to rise until double in size. Remove plastic wrap and bake at 350ºF for 15-20 minutes.
