These Utah restaurants are worth every mile.
You’ve got your go-to restaurant down the street, but do you have a spot that’s ‘worth the drive?’ Whether it’s tucked away in the red rocks of St. George, or somewhere along the Wasatch back, Chelsea Fairbourn helped us decide what spots are well worth the mileage.
Chelsea shared six fantastic restaurants that are definitely worth the drive.
In Chelsea’s eyes, a restaurant that is ‘worth the drive’ is a joint that’s less obvious, a place that offers quality food, and potentially offers an out-of-the-ordinary experience. It might be somewhere that’s a little farther on the map, but worth the extra road trip minutes.
River Rock Roasting Co.
394 S. State Street, La Verkin UT
If you’re heading to Zion National Park, make sure to stop by River Rock Roasting Co. Located conveniently on your way, this spot is perfect for breakfast or dinner. Known for its delicious pizzas and burgers, Chelsea’s top recommendation is their cinnamon rolls. And don’t forget to take advantage of the stunning patio view that makes dining here an even better experience.
The Lakehouse
5137 US-189, Heber UT
Nestled by the water, The Lakehouse is a must-visit for a special dining occasion. Chelsea raves about their scones and bruschetta, and while the entrees are on the pricier side (around $20-$40), the ambiance and lakeside setting make it well worth the splurge. Enjoy a leisurely walk along the lake after your meal for the full experience!
Taggart’s Grill
1105 Taggart Lane, Morgan UT
Taggart’s Grill is a beloved spot situated between Coalville and Morgan, right at the mouth of a picturesque canyon. It’s a family-friendly place where you can enjoy delicious enchiladas and house-made pita bread. Chelsea also highlights their amazing desserts, particularly the carrot cake, which is a standout favorite.
Ol’Skool
1588 S. 2000 W., Syracuse UT
For those who love hearty, satisfying meals, Ol’Skool serves up California-style burritos and loaded fries with flair. The unique aspect here is their variety of burrito sizes—ranging from small to massive, ensuring you get just the right amount of food. Chelsea suggests the small size if you want to avoid needing a wheelbarrow to roll yourself out!
Herm’s Inn
1435 Canyon Road, Logan UT
Craving a great breakfast? Head to Herm’s Inn on the far-east side of Logan. This spot has something for everyone, whether you’re into sweet or savory dishes. Chelsea highly recommends their huevos rancheros, but you can’t go wrong with any choice on the menu.
Tagge’s Fruit Stand
3431 S. Highway 89, Brigham City UT
While you’re in Logan visiting Herm’s, make a pit stop at Tagge’s Fruit Stand. This place is known for its fresh fruits and vegetables, and their peach parfait is a must-try. It’s a decadent treat featuring soft serve ice cream, fresh peaches, caramel drizzle, and graham cracker crumbles.
