These biscuits and gravy bombs will blow your mind! It’s everything you love about the savory southern breakfast, wrapped up in a neat little biscuit. If your family takes on the tradition of a big conference breakfast, this brand new idea will take your game to the next level.

Recipe creator Alex Daynes shared how to make a little bit of breakfast magic by swapping out your cinnamon rolls for biscuit and gravy bombs.

Alex tops her biscuits and gravy with a generous drizzle of the sweet stuff. “Finish each bomb off with a non-negotiable drizzle of honey and dive in,” Alex said. Once you try it, you’ll be hooked!

Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 15 minutes
Total Time 30 minutes

Yield: 8 Bombs

INGREDIENTS

  • 1- 8 count package of Biscuit dough
  • 1 pound sausage
  • 1 Tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/4 cup half & half
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Honey for drizzling

METHOD

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cook the sausage in the butter over medium heat on the stovetop. Brown until cooked through.
  3. Sprinkle on the flour and mix to combine.
  4. Slowly add the milk and half-and-half to allow the mixture to thicken. Reduce the heat to a simmer and simmer for 4-5 minutes until the gravy thickens. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Roll out each biscuit round into a flat circle. Place about 1/3 cup of the sausage gravy in the center, then fold the sides around it, pinching in the middle to create tension.
  6. Place the bombs seam-side down on a greased baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining biscuits. Brush the tops of each bomb with the egg wash.
  7. Bake according to the package instructions.
  8. Drizzle with honey and serve immediately. Enjoy!

Notes

You can make these ahead of time by preparing the gravy the night before. For best results, wrap and bake the bombs the day you intend to eat them.
