This mom feeds her daughter’s whole dance team with these simple recipes.
We know you’re feeling it: the crash of May. It can be a tough month to eat healthy. This kid-approved meal prep will feed your hungry crew, and teach your kids a valuable lesson.
Becca Jackson takes dinner to her daughter’s dance team once a week. She believes there’s a bigger message than just filling their bellies on their dinner break.
“Often we see supporting our kids by making sure they look nice or making sure they’re on time, but this is a fun a different way to support our kids—by feeding them! I want them to realize that the same amount of effort we put into the costumes and their hair and makeup, we also put into them being well fed and happy,” she explained.
Becca wants to teach her girls the importance of fueling their bodies. She added, “We can’t expect them to work hard if they’re not fueled properly.”
Becca’s meal prep includes fruit or veggies, a carb, and sometimes a little treat to finish off the meal. Here are some of her ideas:
Crepes with Syrup or Nutella, Breakfast Sausages, Oranges
Pizza Grilled Cheese, Cucumbers, Grapes, Cookies
Sweet and Sour Meatballs, Rice, Fruit
Quesadillas with Meat, Apples, Carrots
Taco Spaghetti, Pineapple, Blueberries, Cookies
