Make your next holiday gathering a popcorn party!

You’ve done the ugly sweater thing. You’ve laughed through white elephant chaos. But this party idea truly pops: a holly jolly popcorn party!

Amy Richardson shared the setup that makes even popcorn feel elegant. It’s festive and fabulous! Whether it’s for a cozy Christmas movie night or a darling holiday dessert station, this party idea lets every guest craft a personalized popcorn treat.

The Setup

First things first, you need popcorn! You can pop your own corn or go store-bought. Amy recommended Himalayan pink salt popcorn or Skinny Pop for a sweet and salty flavor combo.

Next, lay out all of your toppings in martini glasses or any special serving cups. Drape them with bows for an elegant and elevated look. This small touch makes a big difference in the overall presentation!

Keep your caramel warm in a crockpot throughout your party. This way, it’s always ready for drizzling. Amy’s honey caramel recipe is an heirloom in her family. Her great-grandmother used to make it every Christmas.

Each guest can take a scoop of popcorn, drizzle on their own honey caramel, and top it with their favorite toppings. It’s a fun and interactive way to enjoy a holiday treat.

Topping Ideas

Here are some topping ideas to get you started:

  • Rosemary almonds
  • Hand-colored sprinkles
  • Chocolate curls
  • Candied nuts
  • Peppermint
  • Gingerbread chips
  • Coconut
  • White chocolate

Get creative and add any other toppings you think your guests will love!

Honey Cream Popcorn

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups honey
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 4 Tbsp butter
  • ½ tsp salt

METHOD

  1. In a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat, mix together sugar, honey, and cream.
  2. Add butter and cook stirring constantly, until sugar is dissolved.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in salt. Mixture will slightly thicken as it cools.
  4. Pour into a container until ready to use.
  5. To reheat, place honey caramel in microwave, chafing dish, or crockpot. Warm to desired temperature.
