A good whipped feta dip is perfect for a party!

Cranberry whipped feta is an easy party dip—and it should anchor all of your holiday spreads! This delicious dip is salty, creamy, sweet, tart, and absolutely irresistible.

Tami Steggell shared her recipe for cranberry whipped feta. The combination of creamy feta and tangy cranberry sauce creates a perfect harmony of flavors that is both unique and irresistible. The addition of pistachios adds a delightful crunch, while rosemary crackers provide the perfect vehicle for scooping up this delicious dip.

Tami recommended using a brick of feta rather than crumbled feta for a creamier base.

Got leftovers or planning ahead? Store this dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to four days. If prepping in advance, hold off on adding the cranberry sauce and pistachios until just before serving for the freshest flavor and presentation.

INGREDIENTS

The Cranberry Sauce

  • 1/3 cup fresh orange juice (80 ml), plus 1 tsp. finely grated orange zest (5 ml)
  • 2 tablespoons honey (30 g), divided
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries (120 g)

The Whipped Feta

  • 2 sprigs thyme, leaves only (10 g)
  • 8 oz. feta in brine (225 g), cut into small cubes
  • 2 cloves garlic, grated or minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (1 g)
  • 4 oz. cream cheese (115 g), room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon honey (15 ml)
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil (30 ml)

Garnish

  • Drizzle of Honey
  • Cranberry Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons toasted chopped pistachios (30 g) Serve with: Rosemary crackers or crostini

METHOD

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together orange juice and 2 tablespoon honey (30g) until combined, then bring to a boil. Add cranberries, reduce heat to medium-low and cook, stirring occasionally, until cranberries burst and become saucy, about 7 to 8 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in orange zest. Let cool.
  2. Meanwhile, drain brine from feta. In a food processor, pulse feta, garlic, red pepper flakes, and chopped thyme until feta breaks up into small crumbs. Add cream cheese and pulse until combined. With the motor running, drizzle in olive oil and blend until the mixture is smooth and fluffy.
  3. Transfer whipped feta to a serving bowl. Top with cooled cranberry sauce. Sprinkle with pistachios and drizzle with remaining 1 tablespoon honey (15 g). Serve with crackers.
