You don’t need to spend a lot of time making these Halloween treats!

A legendary Halloween party needs one thing: a killer snack spread. Whether you’re hosting or heading to a party, these homemade Halloween treats are equal parts trick AND treat.

Studio 5 Food Editor Maddy Tolman shared four frightfully easy treats fit for any party. “These ideas emphasize on simple,” Maddy said. “When you keep the recipes simple, you make room for memories. You can pull the kids and grandkids into the kitchen and create a space where memories are made.”

Never underestimate the power of a good mold. Maddy recommended these two from Amazon:

Skeleton Strawberry Skewers

Skull Pizzas

Skull Pizzas

These pizza skulls are fun, festive, and so easy to make. This would be a perfect Halloween pizza party idea, or a quick and easy dinner before trick or treating. Dip them in even more pizza sauce for extra flavor, or another dipping sauce of your choice!

Makes 6 Skull Pizzas

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cans of Pillsbury Dough (Maddy prefers the sheets with no perforation, but the crescent dough works too!)
  • Pizza Sauce
  • Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1 ½ teaspoons Italian Seasoning (optional)

METHOD

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Roll our your dough into a 15×10 inch rectangle. Cut the dough into 6 even squares.
  2. Spray skull-shaped pan with cooking spray. Lay one square of dough in each skeleton cavity.
  3. Layer the dough with one tablespoon of mozzarella, 1 tablespoon pizza sauce, pepperoni, and ¼ teaspoon of Italian seasoning in the center of the square.
  4. Fold the sides together and pinch to seal. Repeat in all 6 skulls.
  5. Bake for 16-18 minutes, until lightly golden. Carefully remove skulls. Serve with dipping sauce, if desired.

Notes

  • Fill the insides with any toppings you like! You could go sweet with Nutella, or savory with pesto, herbs, and cheese.
  • Don’t overstuff the dough. You need to be able to seal it all up, or your skeleton shape won’t turn out.

Spiderweb Pretzels

Put your chocolate in a ketchup bottle for easy dispensing and more control. Melt the chocolate before adding it to your plastic ketchup bottle.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 bag Pretzel Sticks
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • Halloween Sprinkles (optional)

METHOD

  1. Spray the surface of a sheet pan or plate with nonstick spray, or parchment paper.
  2. Arrange spider webs using 6-8 pretzels on each web. Set aside while you melt chocolate.
  3. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt chocolate chips until completely melted and smooth. If chocolate is thick, add 1 teaspoon of coconut oil.
  4. Transfer chocolate to ketchup bottle or Ziploc bag. (Cut a small tip off of the Ziploc bag.)
  5. Starting at the center of the pretzels, add melted chocolate over the center to hold together. Add a good amount. Continue to swirl chocolate around the pretzel sticks in a circle multiple times, creating the spider web. Don’t be shy, the chocolate holds it all together!
  6. Add sprinkles while the chocolate is still warm. Set in the fridge/freezer for 5-10 minutes.

Strawberry Skulls

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 container of small strawberries
  • 1 Cup White Chocolate Chips

METHOD

  1. Melt chocolate over medium heat until completely melted. If chocolate is thick, add 1 tsp coconut oil to thin it out.
  2. Take the tops off of your strawberries. Dip the strawberry completely in the white chocolate.
  3. Spoon a little bit of chocolate into your skull mold. Press the covered strawberry into the mold to set.
  4. Let sit in the fridge/freezer for 5-10 minutes.
  5. Skewer, if desired, and enjoy!

Monster Popcorn Balls

INGREDIENTS

  • 5 quarts plain popped popcorn
  • ¾ cup light corn syrup
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 2 teaspoons cold water
  • 2 ½ cup sugar
  • 1 cup marshmallows
  • Cooking Spray
  • Halloween Sprinkles and Eyeballs (Maddy found both of these in the Smith’s baking aisle)
  • Halloween-Colored food coloring: 3 colors

METHOD

  1. Separate popped popcorn into 3 large bowls. Keep an equal amount in each bowl. You’ll dye each bowl a different color.
  2. Combine corn syrup, butter, water, sugar, and marshmallows in a saucepan over medium heat. Heat and stir until the marshmallows have completely melted.
  3. Separate the marshmallow mixture into 3 separate bowls. Using food dye, dye each bowl a different color.
  4. Drizzle one colored marshmallow mix into one bowl of popcorn. Add sprinkles, if desired.
  5. Spray hands with cooking spray and quickly shape the coated popcorn into balls.
  6. Add eyeballs, to finish.
